Visiting a city beach, basking in the sun and enjoying the shimmering waters will rejuvenate your body and mind. Below is a compilation of the most stunning beaches you must look forward to whenever you’re in Abu Dhabi.

Corniche Beach

Extending along the Corniche Road up to the Hilton Hotel, this lengthy stretch of sand has its main entrance at the Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street. You can find yourself a beach umbrella during the week but you may not be lucky enough during the weekend as they get occupied very quickly. The floating fences will keep you within forty meters of the Corniche beach, so you cannot swim out too far. Also, there’ll be plenty of lifeguards around.

An awardee of the coveted Blue Flag status, the Corniche Beach offers three distinct sections for singles, families and the general public. Entry to this public beach is free.

Mirfa Beach

This is the only developed beach of the Western Region and is home to the annual Al Gharbia Watersports Festival. It is among the best kept secrets of the region and doesn’t get crowded too much. A small town is located near Mirfa Beach from where you can get supplies for camping during the night or for enjoying the lovely turquoise waters during the day.

The Al Gharbia Watersports Festival attracts visitors to this pristine and slightly obscured area. Enthusiasts of water sports from local and abroad gather to take part in competitions such as surf-ski kayaking, wakeboarding and kiteboarding. Mirfa Beach also offers camping facilities for its visitors with a ‘Sunset Souk’, a kids play area and live evening entertainment.

Saadiyat Beach

The very first beach on the Saadiyat Island offers multiple activities and facilities for sun-lounging guests and trendy beachgoers. Saadiyat Beach is home to the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, Monte-Carlo Beach Club, Manarat Al Saadiyat exhibition center and two 5-star beachfront resorts. Nestled on the island’s serene shores, this 400 m beach is a fantastic spot for a day out where you can enjoy the clean, warm waters.

Lounge chairs, lockers, bathrooms, umbrellas and lifeguards are available throughout the day. There is also a snack lounge and a shop selling sports equipment and beachwear. You can reserve certain areas on the Saadiyat Beach for special events. The beach opens every day from 8 in the morning to sunset, and entry is free for children below the age of five.

Yas Beach

This laid-back beach is set on a magnificent stretch of white sand and easily connects to all of the diverse leisure activities in Yas Island. Sun seekers staying at any of the seven hotels of Yas Island enjoy complimentary access to the beach. There are plenty of additional activities you can enjoy at the Yas Beach.

With an outdoor gym for workouts, beach volleyball, non-motorized motorsports such as kayaking, sailing, stand up paddle boarding and mangrove tours, you won’t run short of fun and excitement. Saturday is observed as Ladies Day at the beach. Yas Beach has free entry for children below the age of eight.
