Phenomenal Places to Visit in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates and is a city with a very high per capita income making it one of the most developed cities in the world. The city sits on a T-shaped island protruding into the Persian Gulf. The city has one of the biggest mosques with a capacity of 41,000 worshipers and the world’s largest carpets and third largest chandelier in the world. The city is modern city preserving its cultural heritage.
Ferrari World
It is the first of its kind amusement park on a number of aspects. It’s the only Ferrari-branded theme park, the one with the largest space frame structure and one which houses the world’s fastest roller coaster. It is located on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

The Park covers an area of 86,000 sq m, with three different amusement parks inside it. There are five roller coasters namely Fiorano GT Challenge, Formula Rossa (fastest in the world), Mission Ferrari, Flying Aces and Vortex. The park has family rides like the Drive a Ferrari, a Flight Simulator, F1 and GT virtual simulation and other interesting activities. The tickets available are of two categories, one offering a one day visit the other offering a two day visit owing to the grand size of the theme park.
Emirates Palace
Emirates Palace is a luxury hotel showcasing Arabian culture with 1.3 km private beach and 85 hectares of lawns and gardens surrounding the property. The Emirates Palace was built at a cost of 3 Billion USD becoming the second most expensive hotel ever built. The floor is plush marble with gold roofs making the place an explosion of opulence.
The hotel comprises of 114 domes some of which are 80 m high and 394 rooms and suites. There are 302 rooms and 92 suites spread over the entire building with suites being furnished in gold and marble. Six Rulers’ Suites sit on the top-floor reserved for royalty or dignitaries.
Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital
It is the world’s first falcon welfare and care center. It opened under Abu Dhabi Environment Agency and has become the largest avian hospital. It has been developed so as to also become a tourist attraction offering tours since 2007 to experience the world of falcons and falconry. The tour guides you through the history of the birds, their life in the past and in the today’s modern times.
The tour showcases the uniqueness of the birds followed by a deeper understanding of their behavior and life. The tour is concluded with a souvenir photograph of a falcon pegged on your hand.
Mushrif Central Park
Drive to Mushrif Central Park in your rental car to see the park which was redeveloped in ideological collaboration with the people of Abu Dhabi. The park preaches the idea of ‘education through recreation’ and has been developed to bring the community closer and become environmental friendly.
The park houses a Music Garden with inconspicuously placed speakers which play the Mushrif park soundtrack and giant percussion instruments for the visitors to make use of.
There are parts of the park which have metal pulleys and structures illustrating the laws of physics, turning play into a learning experience for kids. The park has an animal care center for kids to feed animals and see them first hand. The park also houses a wisdom park which is a beautiful Zen garden within a greenhouse with flowing water. A fun colorful train moves through the park for the visitors to see the 14 hectares of the park quickly and easily. The amphitheatre attracts the visitors for open-air performances and shows.
